Gueridon table, 1949

Gueridon table by Jean Prouvé for Vitra.

Jean Prouvé designed the Gueridon table for the University of Paris. The design proves that modern tables do not have to be made of steel and glass. Instead, it offers a variation on Prouvé's standard formal language, with its architectural overtones, by using a natural material.

Gueridon has also been given a makeover; the legs, materials and surfaces are the same as those of Table Solvay, but it has an extended diameter and height.
